Obiettivi formativi
il corso ha la finalità di fornire una conoscenza generale sulle strutture chimiche delle materie prime, sostanze funzionali ed eccipienti, sulla loro stabilità e sul loro impiego nella preparazione dei prodotti cosmetici ed eccipienti, sulla loro stabilità e sul loro impiego nella preparazione dei prodotti cosmetici. Nell’ambito del corso vengono anche trattati i problemi inerenti la stabilità dei principali sistemi cosmetici e la preparazione delle principali forme cosmetiche. Requisiti: conoscenza di base acquisite con la frequenza dei corsi degli anni precedenti.

Problematiche nella preparazione e controlli.
Cenni sulla struttura della pelle. Cenni sui test di tossicità in vivo e in vitro.
Cenni di chimica colloidale.
Tensioattivi , strutture.
Cenni sulla sintesi ed eventuali impurezze. Impieghi.
Tensioattività, detergenza, schiumogenesi, aggregazione dei sistemi anfipatici.
Emulsioni. Stabilità, metodi di stabilizzazione. Sistemi monofasici, plurifasici. Emulsionanti, strutture e impiego.
Additivi reologici. Reologia.
Conservanti, strutture, instabilità, interazione con il veicolo.
Requisiti per un buon sistema conservante.
Lipoperossidazione, autoossidazione, fotoossidazione e antiossidanti.
Cenni su molecole odorose e derivati vegetali, loro ottenimento.
Filtri solari, strutture molecolari, interazione con i veicoli, fotostabilità.
Prodotti idratanti e idratazione.
Prodotti anti invecchiamento.
Cenni sui pigmenti, e sul loro impiego in cosmesi decorativa, cenni sulle tinture per i capelli, cenni sulle tinture per i capelli tinture per i capelli.
Cenni di legislazione.
Esercitazioni: tecniche di preparazione di formulazioni cosmetiche: detergenti, emulsioni, geli e lozioni. Cenni sulla produzione industriale e sui controlli.

SPECIFIC AIMS
The course aims at providing a general understanding on the chemical structures of materials, substances and functional ingredients, their stability and their use in the preparation of cosmetic products. A part of the course are also dealt with the problems inherent stability of the major cosmetic and preparation of the main forms of cosmetics. Regulatory aspect and quality controls are described.
REQUIREMENTS
The student must have acquired the basic knowledge gained from the frequency of courses of previous years.
PROGRAM
Introduction to the course. Issues in the preparation and monitoring of cosmetics
Outline the structure of the skin. Brief tests of in vivo and in vitro toxicity.
Outline of colloidal chemistry. Surface structures. Surfactants. The synthesis and possible impurities. Uses. Detergency, detergents, foam formation, amphipatic system aggregation.
Emulsions. Stability, methods of stabilization and preparations. Monophasic systems, multiphasen systems. Emulsifiers, properties and employment.
Rheological additives. Rheology theory.
Preservatives, structure, instability, interaction with the vehicle. Requirements for a good preservative.
Lipoperoxidazion, autoxidation, photooxidation and antioxidants.
Fragrances and derivatives from plants and their production.
Sunscreens, molecular structures, interaction with vehicles, light. Solar products
Hydrating and moisturizing products.
Anti-aging products.
Brief description of pigments and their use in decorative cosmetics, tips on hair dye, the outline for the hair dye to dye their hair.
Legislation and regulatory aspects.
Laboratory Exercises
Techniques of preparation of cosmetic formulations: detergents, emulsions, lotions and gels. A brief survey of industrial production and controls.
