Lo scopo del corso è fornire agli studenti le informazioni relative ai metodi di riconoscimento ed identificazione delle droghe vegetali.

Il controllo farmacognostico sulle droghe vegetali. Metodi di caratterizzazione e di riconoscimento macroscopico di una droga di origine vegetale: morfologia, struttura, proprietà organoletticheMetodi di caratterizzazione e di riconoscimento microscopico di una droga di origine vegetale:
- allestimento dei preparati di droghe organizzate e di droghe non organizzate
- metodi di riconoscimento e di identificazione di elementi strutturali diagnostici con particolare attenzione rivolta alle indagini su droghe vegetali polverate ( tessuti, peli, ghiandole, inclusioni ecc.)
Metodi di localizzazione dei principi attivi in una droga di origine vegetale.Descrizione dei principali saggi di identificazione riferiti alle droghe riportate in F.U.XI e in Farmacopea Europea
Quality control of herbal drugs
Aims of the course
This course is focused on the description of the different methods that should be applied for a correct identification and characterization of herbal drugs. Practical lessons will help the students in the acquisition of these methods.
Programme
Definition of quality control and application of quality control to herbal drugs. Strategy for a correct authentication of herbal drugs: macroscopic authentication: description of the most important characteristics for the authentication of herbal drugs. Microscopy: qualitative and quantitative methods for the identification of the diagnostic elements characterizing the different herbal drugs. Colorimetric methods for the localization of the metabolites in plant material.
Description of the European Pharmacopoeia methods for quality control of herbal drugs.
Possible contaminants of herbal drugs.
