Temi di ricerca
My research has been focusing on Parkinson's disease, the second most common and diffused nerodegenrative disorder. In particular i am interested in studying early funcional alterations at the somatic and synaptic level by using electrophysiological approaches. At the moment i am using an invitro model to study the pathophysiology of the disease consiting in primary murine hippocampal cell cultures treated with a-synuclein oligomers. i am working on hippocammpal neurons because i am more interested into get more insights about the non motor symptoms of the disease.
Beisides this, still in the context of parkinson's disease i am working on how different compounds, like pesticides and herbicedes, can be linked to the developing of the disease how these changes occur at single cell level.
