Obiettivi formativi

tale corso ha la finalità di fornire una conoscenza generale sulle strutture chimiche delle materie prime, sostanze funzionali ed eccipienti, sulla loro stabilità e sul loro impiego nella preparazione dei prodotti cosmetici. Nell’ambito di tale corso vengono anche trattati i problemi inerenti la stabilità dei principali sistemi cosmetici e la preparazione delle principali forme cosmetiche. Requisiti: conoscenze di base acquisite con la frequenza dei corsi degli anni precedenti.

Oggetto:

Introduzione al corso: definizione dei prodotti cosmetici, problematiche nella loro preparazione e 
controlli.
Cenni sulla struttura della pelle e degli annessi cutanei.
Tensioattivi. Strutture. Ruolo dei tensioattivi nella preparazione dei detergenti.
Tensioattività, detergenza, schiumogenesi, aggregazione di molecole anfipatiche, strutture degli 
aggregati in relazione alle proprietà reologiche del sistema, curvatura spontanea e rapporto di 
impacchettamento.
Emulsioni: sistemi bifasici, trifasici, polifasici. Teoria della stabilità, metodi di stabilizzazione. 
Emulsionanti.
Reologia. Polimeri sintetici, semi sintetici, naturali.
Cenni sui lipidi. Lipoperossidazione ed antiossidanti.
Cenni sui conservanti, spettro di azione, sinergismo.
Antimicrobici cutanei. Deodorazione.
Filtri solari, meccanismi di protezione. Strutture, meccanismi di assorbimento nell’ultravioletto. 
Idratazione della pelle, idratanti, umettanti. Tinture per i capelli.
Cenni di legislazione.
Cenni sui test di tossicità in vivo e in vitro.
 
Esercitazioni di laboratorio:
Tecniche ed operazioni formulative in piccola scala per l’allestimento di prodotti per la detergenza,
emulsioni O/A, A/O, A/S, geli, emulsioni gel, lozioni. 
Controlli reologici e di stabilità. 
Cenni sulla produzione ed il confezionamento. 
 
Modalità d'esame: scritto e orale.

SPECIFIC AIMS
This course aims to provide a general understanding on the chemical structures of materials, substances and functional ingredients for cosmetic products and their stability and their use in the production of cosmetics. A part of this course are also dealt with the problems inherent stability of the major cosmetic, preparation of the main forms of cosmetics and regulatory aspect.
REQUIREMENTS
The student must have acquired the basic knowledge gained from the frequency of courses of previous years.
PROGRAM

Introduction to the course: the definition of cosmetic products, problems in their preparation and controls.
Introduction on the structure of the skin and cutaneous appendages.
Surfactancts. Structures and role of surfactants in the preparation of detergents.
Detergency, detergents, aggregation of amphipatic molecules, structures of the aggregates in relation to rheological properties of the system, spontaneous curvature and package relationship.
Emulsions: description and classification of biphasic and three-phase systems
Stability theory, methods of preparation and stabilization.
Emulsifiers. Rheologhy.
Synthetic, semi-synthetic, natural polymers.
Lipoperoxidation and antioxidant.
Preservatives, spectrum of activity, synergic activity.
Antibacterial for skin. Deoderants and perfumes. Solar protection: mechanisms and sunscreens. Structures, mechanisms of absorption. Hydration of the skin, hydration products, wetting. Hair Dyes. Legislation. Toxicity tests in vivo and in vitro.

Laboratory Exercises:
Techniques of preparation made in small scale for the detergents, emulsions O / A, A / O, A / S, gels, emulsion gels, lotions. Rheological control and stability determination
