The Cluster of Excellence “Cells in Motion” (CiM) and the Institute of Neurobiology, University of Münster, invites applications for a PhD student and postdoc position.
The positions in the group of Prof. Stefan Luschnig are available from May 2017 for three years.
The Luschnig group investigates developmental, cellular, and molecular aspects of epithelial biology using a broad spectrum of molecular, genetic and modern imaging approaches. A current focus in the lab is to uncover the molecular and cellular mechanisms of the formation of tricellular junctions (TCJs), which seal epithelia at the sites of contact between three cells (Byri et al. 2015, Dev Cell 33 (5) 535- 48). Despite their fundamental role, TCJs are poorly described in terms of their structure, composition, and the dynamics of their assembly and maintenance. We investigate these questions using Drosophila melanogaster as a model system.
